The days of Diwali are the days of breaking away from life’s vices (tamas) – the darkness of ignorance. It is a festival to spread the light of service, understanding and benevolence by lighting the lamps of knowledge, faith, integrity and positivity.
The festival of Dhanteras is the glorification of positioning goddess Lakshmi along with lord Narayan in our home-family.
We must create a pious environment that is favourable to goddess Lakshmi, so that her love and blessings continue to flow upon our house and family.
Goddess Lakshmi herself says, “O Devaraja (King of gods) Indra, I have not been able to remain stable in the kingdom of Baliraja. Only when my four feet remain stable, can I dwell forever in any place.”
My four feet are as follows:
1 The human heart should have an atmosphere full of righteousness, good conduct and discretion.
2 Having earned wealth honestly.
3 Welcoming and treating everyone with hospitality.
4 Wealth is also being used in service, charity, good company.
Goddess Lakshmi is also known as the Lokshree (Goddess of walfare).
A throne of righteousness is required to be seated in people’s hearts. Goddess Lakshmi only resides in the virtuous mind of a person.
Only the money earned through hard work and purity can become wealth (Lakshmi). Never try to become the owner of money, always try to be a good administrator.
